Granola captures meeting audio directly from a user's laptop, then turns raw typed notes and the transcript into structured records. The London company, founded in 2023 by Chris Pedregal and Sam Stephenson, has roughly 100 employees and counts Vanta, Asana, Gusto, Mistral AI, Cursor, and Linear among its customers.
The product avoids the meeting bot entirely. Competitors like Otter, Fireflies, and Read.ai join calls as visible participants. Granola records device audio locally, so attorneys, investors, and salespeople can keep working with sensitive prospects without a third-party logo sitting on the screen.
The bigger bet is in 2026 plumbing. Granola now ships an MCP server and an enterprise API that pipe meeting context into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Replit, and v0. The note-taking app is a wedge; the actual ambition is becoming the context graph for AI agents at work.
WHY IT STANDS OUT
Raised $192M total across four rounds, hitting a $1.5 billion valuation in March 2026, a sixfold jump from the $250M Series B ten months earlier.
Enterprise customers include Vanta, Gusto, Asana, Mistral AI, Cursor, Lovable, Linear, Intercom, Ramp, Brex, Vercel, Replit, and PostHog, spanning AI labs and mid-market tech.
Released MCP server and enterprise API in early 2026, letting meeting context flow into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Replit, v0, Lovable, and Bolt.new workflows.
